Rafting in River Siang

Duration : 14 Days
Day 01 :

Dibrugarh - Pasighat

Drive and then ferry by country made boat to Pasighat (80km, 08hrs). Overnight Pasighat.

Day 02 :

Pasighat - Jengging

Morning drive to Jengging (150kms, 07hrs). Overnight Jengging.

Day 03 :

Jengging - Tuting

Drive to Tuting (140kms, 8hrs). Overnight Tuting.

Day 04 :

Tuting

Sort out gear, ready for rafts in the afternoon- a comprehensive safety briefing instruction sessions and rescuer procedures. Overnight Tuting.

Day 05 :

Raft Tuting - Pango

Class IV Ninguing rapid, Class III rapid at Palsi to reach Pango. Overnight Camp at Pango.

Day 06 :

Raft Pango - Rikor

Raft down the Pango rapid and continue to Rikor village to set up Camp above the village. Visit the village. Overnight Camp.

Day 07 :

Raft Rikor - Bomdo

Big whitewater day. Class IV at Rikor followed by the Zebra Rock rapid following a few kilometer downstreaman a bend. Past several rapids followed by a 3 kilometer float till Bomdo. Overnight Camp.
Day 08 :

Raft Bomdo - Yinkeong

A short day on the river. Begin with the huge, “Breakfast Rapids”, followed by milder ones all the way till the suspension bridge at Yinkeong. Overnight Camp.

Day 09 :

Raft Yinkeong - Geku

Begin this day with a long technical rapid and lots of smaller rapids. By noon encounter the biggest rapid on the trip. The “Karbo Killer” at Karko. A good part of the day is spent in the environs of this rapid before we carry on to beach the rafts at Geku. Overnight Camp.

Day 10 :

Raft Geku - Panging

After Geku, a long float till a big rapid above the 65 Bridge. An easy day with long float sections. Pass several Adi Tribal settlements on the way. First major confluence of the Siang river with the Siyom river after the suspension bridge at Boling. Panging by late afternoon. Overnight Camp.

Day 11 :

Raft Panging - Yembung

A short day on the river with quick run to a big rapid at Panging village. Camp above the rapid. Relaxed day. Visit the villages. Overnight Camp.

Day 12 :

Raft Yembung - Pasighat

Final run to the plains at Pasighat by negotiating the last biggie on the trip at Poning. The Siang gathers a lot more volume approaching Pasight where we beach for the last time on this trip. Transfer to rest house at Pasigaht. Rest house/hotel.

Day 13 :

Pasighat - Dibrugarh

Today baot ride to Dibrugarh (80kms 05hrs). Overnight Hotel.
Day 14 :

Dibrugarh - Delhi

Fly Back to Delhi/Kolkata.

Kameng & Siang River

For anglers, it is the best spot to catch Masher that occupies the pride of the place with guaranteed success. The other variety of Masheer found here is the chocolate Masheer or the Jhunga. An anglers can also float downstream on inflated rubber boat and fish all the confluence along the way, besides Masher the other game fish of the river are the BOKA (Katli) The SAL (Murral) and the sporting little (KORANG) Local trout and the dreaded GORUA (goonch). Fishing for them in narrow gorges and Rocky River beds and above large rapid can be quite a bit of adventure by itself.

Day 01 :

Delhi-Guwahati-Bhalukpong

Assistance on arrival and drive to Bhalukpong (230 km, 8hrs drive). Overnight Inspection Bunglow or Eco Camp, Bhalukpong.

Day 02 :

Bhalukpong

Full day shore bank fishing in Kameng River, 15 km radius distance. Overnight Bhalukpong.

Day 03 :

Bhalukpong

Day 04 :

Bhalukpong-Itanagar

Morning drive to Itanagar (200 km, 6hrs drive). Afternoon free at state museum. Overnight Hotel Donyi Polo Ashok or Arun Subansiri, Itanagar.

Day 05 :

Itanagar-Pasighat

Morning drive to Pasighat (260 km, 8hrs drive). Overnight Circuit house or Hotel East Siang.
Day 06 :

Pasighat-Panging

After breakfast drive to Panging (60 km, 6hrs drive). Overnight Inspection Bunglow or Tent, Panging.

Day 07 :

Panging

Full day shore bank fishing in Siang River, 45 km radius in distance. Overnight Panging.

Day 08 :

Panging-Boleng

Boleng shore bank fishing in Siang River, 45 km radius distance. Overnight Inspection Bunglow or Tent, Boleng.

Day 09 :

Boleng-Yembung

Yembung shore bank fishing in Siang River, 15 km radius distance. Overnight Tent, Yembung.

Day 10 :

Yembung-Pasighat

Drive to Pasighat (50 km, 4hrs drive). Evening free at local villages. Overnight Pasighat.

Day 11 :

Pasighat-Dibrugarh

After breakfast drive then ferry to Dibrugarh (7hrs). Overnight Hotel Natraj, Dibrugarh.

Day 12 :

Dibrugarh-Delhi/Kolkata

Afternoon transfer to airport for onward journey. Tour ends.
